Where a customer organisation deploys ETIT's tracking devices or platforms to monitor its own vehicles, assets, or personnel, that organisation is typically responsible for informing the individuals concerned (for example drivers) about the monitoring in place. ETIT acts as a service and technology provider in that relationship.

When you browse this website we may collect standard technical information such as your browser type, device type, approximate location inferred from your IP address, pages viewed, and referring pages, generally through analytics and logging tools operated on our behalf.

When you submit an enquiry, request a demo, or apply for a role, we collect the information you provide directly, such as your name, company, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.

Where you use, or are a subject of, one of ETIT's tracking or fleet-management services, the data processed typically includes device identifiers, vehicle or asset identifiers, timestamps, and location data derived from GPS or similar positioning technology, together with related telemetry such as speed, ignition status, or sensor readings depending on the device and package deployed.

The specific categories of data processed, and the purposes for which they are used, are set out in the service agreement or platform terms applicable to each customer, since tracking configurations vary by solution and by customer requirement.

Location data is treated as sensitive information within our systems. It is used to provide the core functionality of the relevant tracking service — for example, mapping vehicle position, generating route history, or triggering geofence alerts — and is made available primarily to the customer that owns or operates the tracked asset.

We apply access controls so that location data is, as a general principle, visible only to the customer account associated with the relevant device and to ETIT personnel who require access to operate, support, or troubleshoot the service.

In general terms, we process personal data where it is necessary to perform a contract with you or with the organisation you represent, where you have given consent (for example to receive marketing communications), where we have a legitimate business interest in operating and improving our services and website, and where processing is necessary to comply with an applicable legal obligation.

Where a more specific lawful basis applies to a particular processing activity, this will ordinarily be described in the relevant service agreement rather than in this general notice.

We use personal data to respond to enquiries, provide and support our tracking and technology services, manage customer accounts and billing, maintain the security and integrity of our systems, and, where permitted, to communicate about products and services that may be relevant to you.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

Delivering tracking services often involves third parties, such as installation centres that fit devices into vehicles, network and platform providers that support connectivity, and, in some cases, resellers or partner organisations. Where this is necessary, we share only the data required for that party to perform its role.

We expect installers and partners who handle personal data on our behalf, or on behalf of our customers, to apply appropriate safeguards and to use that data only for the purpose for which it was shared.

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this notice, including any applicable contractual, accounting, or operational requirements. Location and telemetry data associated with a tracking service is generally retained for the period agreed with the relevant customer, after which it is deleted or anonymised in the ordinary course of platform housekeeping.

Website enquiry data that does not proceed to a customer relationship is retained for a limited period sufficient to handle the enquiry and any reasonable follow-up.

We apply administrative, technical, and organisational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration, including access controls, encrypted transmission where applicable, and restricted internal access to tracking and location data.

No system can be guaranteed entirely secure, and we encourage customers and users to safeguard their own account credentials.

Depending on your relationship with ETIT and the data protection framework that applies to you, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
