Accessibility Statement

We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is a goal we work towards on an ongoing basis rather than a certified conformance claim; we have not undergone an independent accessibility audit, and some areas of the site may not yet fully meet this standard.

The website is built with semantic HTML — headings, lists, landmarks, and labelled regions — so that the structure of each page can be understood by screen readers and other assistive technology, not only by sighted visual scanning.

A 'skip to content' link is provided near the top of each page so that keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass repeated navigation and move directly to the main content.

We aim for all interactive elements — links, buttons, form fields, and menus — to be reachable and operable using a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator so that keyboard users can see where they are on the page as they move through it.

Text and interactive elements are designed with sufficient contrast against their backgrounds to be readable by people with low vision or colour-vision differences, and colour is not used as the sole means of conveying information such as errors or required fields.

Where the site uses animation or motion effects for visual interest, we respect the operating-system 'reduced motion' preference, so that visitors who have indicated a preference for reduced motion see a calmer, less animated version of the interface.

We aim to provide meaningful alternative text for images that convey information, and to treat purely decorative images so that they are not announced unnecessarily by assistive technology.

Form fields on this website are intended to have visible, programmatically associated labels, clear instructions, and helpful error messages, so that people using screen readers or other assistive technology can complete enquiries and requests without confusion.

As with most websites, some content may not yet fully meet our accessibility aims. This can include third-party embedded content that we do not control (such as maps or documents), older downloadable files that were not authored with accessibility in mind, or areas of the site still being improved.

We are working to address known limitations over time and welcome reports that help us find issues we have not yet identified.

The website is built to work with current versions of major browsers and with commonly used assistive technologies, such as screen readers. We are not able to guarantee compatibility with every combination of browser, operating system, and assistive technology in use.
